Occam keeps your fundraising in one place. Campaigns, events, email and reports all work from the same donor list, so a gift made on any of your pages shows up on that donor's record. Here's how the dashboard is laid out, and what your supporters see.
The sidebar
At the top of the sidebar, Overview is your home page. Owners and admins also see the getting-started checklist there until it's done. My Tasks lists the open tasks assigned to you.
Everything else is grouped:
- Fundraising: Campaigns, Events, Auctions, Memberships, Pledges, Grants and Store.
- People: Donors, Segments, Pipeline and Volunteers.
- Outreach: Website, Calendar, Email, SMS and Automations.
- Insights: Analytics, Traffic, Links & QR, Dashboards and Reports.
- Admin: Brand kit, Team, Import Data, Audit Trail and Settings. Only owners and admins see this group.
Help, at the top of every page, opens this help center. If you belong to more than one organization, Switch org at the bottom of the sidebar takes you to the others.
Tools you can turn on and off
Most of what's in the sidebar belongs to a tool your organization can turn off if it doesn't use it: Events, Auctions, Memberships, Pledges, Grants, Store, Pipeline, Volunteers, Website (and its Calendar), Email, SMS and Automations. Peer-to-peer fundraising is a tool too, though it has no sidebar item of its own. Turning a tool off hides it and takes its public pages offline, but deletes nothing. See Turn tools on and off.
These are always on: Overview, My Tasks, Campaigns, Donors, Segments, everything under Insights, and the Admin group.
What your supporters see
Every organization gets its own web address, yourname.occam.gives, chosen when it was set up. Your public pages live there:
- Donation pages. Each campaign has its own page, such as
yourname.occam.gives/donate/spring-appeal. See Create a donation campaign. - Pages for your other tools, such as event, auction, store, membership and volunteer pages.
- Your public page, at
yourname.occam.gives/give. It lists every way to support you in one place. See Your public page. - Your website, if you build one. Once it's published, it's what people see at
yourname.occam.gives. Until then, that address opens your public page.
Your donation pages, your public page and your other tools' pages show the logo and main color from your brand kit.
The three roles
- Owner. The person Occam set the organization up for. An owner can do everything an admin can, and is the only one who can finish setup and require two-step verification for admins. Only Occam can transfer ownership, so email info@occam.gives if it needs to change.
- Admin. Everything in the dashboard, including the Admin group: Stripe, tools and other settings, the brand kit, the team and imports.
- Staff. The day-to-day work: campaigns, donors, events, email and reports. Staff don't see the Admin group, and some actions, such as refunds, need an admin.
To add people and choose their role, see Invite your team.
