The checklist at the top of your Overview page, headed with your organization's name (such as Get Riverside Food Bank ready), lists the things a new organization sets up once. You never tick anything off by hand. Each item checks your setup every time the page loads and ticks itself off however the job got done.
Who sees it
Only owners and admins see the checklist, because every item leads to an admin screen. Staff never see it.
The next unfinished item is highlighted, and each unfinished item has a button that takes you to the right place. The bar at the top shows how many are done.
The items
| Item | Ticks off when |
|---|---|
| Make it look like you | You reach the end of the brand quickstart, even if you skipped some questions on the way, or all five brand questions have answers. See Set up your brand. |
| Build your website | You've picked a website template. |
| Publish your website | Your website is published. |
| Accept donations | Your Stripe account is connected. See Connect Stripe. |
| Add your mailing address | You've saved a postal address on the Mailing Address card in Settings. See Email footer and mailing address. |
| Invite your team | Someone else has joined your team, or you have an invitation waiting to be accepted. See Invite your team. |
The two website items only appear while the Website tool is turned on. See Start your website and Turn tools on and off.
When it goes away
The checklist disappears once every item is ticked off. If an item stops being true later, it comes back. For example, it reappears if you disconnect Stripe, or if you turn the Website tool on after finishing everything else.
You can also put it away early with Hide this.
Hide this hides the checklist for everyone on your team, not only you, and there's no way to bring it back. You can still do every step from the sidebar.
Good to know
- Selecting Skip for now on the brand quickstart doesn't tick off Make it look like you. Answer all five questions in Brand kit, or select Walk me through it there and go through to the end.
- Accept donations stays unticked while Stripe shows Pending verification. Finish the steps Stripe asks for and it ticks itself off.
- For the order to do everything in, including steps the checklist doesn't track, see Your first week.
