Each campaign gets its own donation page, with a progress bar toward the goal you set. Make one for each appeal you want to track separately, such as a spring appeal, a building fund or Giving Tuesday.
Create the campaign
- In the sidebar, go to Campaigns and select New Campaign.
- Fill in the details:
- Title: the name donors see at the top of the page.
- Description: what the money is for. Plain text; line breaks are kept.
- Goal (USD): a whole-dollar amount. Donors see how much has been raised toward it.
- Type: leave this set to Donation.
- End Date (optional): see "Good to know" below.
- Select Create Campaign.
The campaign is live as soon as you create it. Anyone with the link can give, and it's listed on your public page. Its page address ends in /donate/ followed by the short name shown under its title on the Campaigns page.
Create events and auctions from Events and Auctions in the sidebar, not here. Choosing Event or Auction as the type on New Campaign makes a campaign with no event or auction behind it, and its page can't be opened. The type can't be changed afterwards.
Add an image and change the details
On the Campaigns page, select Edit on the campaign. Here you can change the title, description and goal, and add a Campaign Image: upload a JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF under 4 MB, or paste an image's web address. Select Save Changes when you're done.
Status
Status on the edit page controls whether the page takes gifts:
- Active: the page is open and the campaign is on your public page.
- Draft, Closed and Archived: visitors see Page not found and can't give. The campaign and its gifts stay in your records.
Good to know
- End Date is for display only. It shows as "Ends" on your Campaigns page, but the page keeps taking gifts after that date. To stop gifts, set Status to Closed.
- Closing or archiving a campaign doesn't stop the monthly gifts made to it. They keep being charged until each donor cancels. See Monthly giving.
- Changing the title doesn't change the page's address.
- The campaign image isn't shown on the donation page at your occam.gives address.
A campaign that has received gifts, pledges, tickets or bids can't be deleted, so its records are never lost. Set its Status to Archived or Closed instead. Delete Campaign is offered only to owners and admins, and only on a campaign nothing has happened on yet.
