OccamEvery receipt Occam sends prints your organization's name, and your EIN if you've added it. Donors may need it for their tax records, so add it before your first gifts come in.
Add your EIN
- In the sidebar, go to Settings.
- In the General card, check that Organization Name is your name as donors should see it. It heads every receipt and is in the subject line.
- Enter your EIN as two digits, a hyphen and seven digits, like
12-3456789. Settings won't save it in any other format. - Select Save Settings. You'll see Settings saved.
Receipts sent from then on carry the new details. Receipts already sent don't change, and Occam can't resend them.
Where your EIN appears
Your EIN prints directly under the heading of donation receipts (one-time, monthly and recorded gifts), membership receipts, auction receipts and pledge acknowledgments. It also appears on year-end statements.
What a receipt looks like
Here's a donation receipt with an EIN, and the same receipt with the EIN field left blank:

With the EIN blank, the line is left out and nothing takes its place. The rest of the receipt is the same, including the line about it serving as an acknowledgment for tax purposes.
The Year-end statement link on a donor's profile is different: with no EIN, it prints (EIN not configured).
Your mailing address isn't on receipts
Receipts don't include a postal address. The Mailing Address card in Settings sets the address printed at the bottom of your email campaigns and automation emails, not receipts. See Email footer and mailing address.

- The EIN is optional. Occam sends receipts with or without it.
